Diolinoir Libre

With its black cherry color, this natural Diolinoir presents itself with a nose of red fruits, blueberries, slightly woody and spicy. It is greedy on the palate with notes of candy sugar and smoke.

Info about the grape variety

Grape variety: Diolinoir
Indigenous | 130 HA in Switzerland (0,89%)

An artificial crossing of Robin Noir × Pinot Noir, Diolinoir was obtained in 1970 at the Agroscope research center in Pully (Switzerland) in order to intensify the color of Pinot Noir. It takes its name from its parents, the Robin Noir being called Rouge de Diolly in Valais. Resistant to gray rot, it gives powerful and full-bodied wines, often used in blending.
