Johannisberg Vieilles Vignes

A quality Johannisberg that presents itself with a complex and expressive nose of fruity scents sublimated by mineral, toasted and slightly woody notes. With its light carbonic, it is greedy and unfolds with roundness in the mouth.

Info about the grape variety

Grape variety: Sylvaner
Traditional (planted before 1900) | 2 HA in Switzerland

Originally from Austria, Sylvaner is a natural cross between Savagnin (Heida in Valais) and Österreichisch Weiß, an old Austrian grape variety. Its name comes from the Latin silva = forest, indicating a supposed wild origin. In Switzerland, it is particularly cultivated in Valais where it is called Johannisberg in reference to a famous wine estate in Rheingau (D). Its wines offer aromas of hazelnut and moderate acidity.
