Traditional (planted before 1900) | 45 HA in Switzerland (0,31%)

Originally from the Rhône valley (FR) and named after a village near Montélimar in Drôme, Marsanne Blanche was introduced around 1845 in Sion in Valais where it kept the name of Hermitage or Hermitage, in reference to the famous Drôme vineyard. In Switzerland, it is cultivated practically only in Valais, where it gives dry or sweet whites, with aromas of raspberry liqueur, and a great aging capacity.
